I’m a Marriott and Starwood member, but Starwood’s Aloft hotels have way better toiletries to offer me when I forget my body lotion. I always leave hotel toiletries behind, except when I’m at an Aloft, I hoard those tiny tubes of Bliss body lotion like I’ve got a black market beauty business. I’ll admit that in my earlier years I didn’t have the money to indulge in higher end skincare or beauty products, but I’m 15 years in, and my face shows it. Plus, airplane travel is dehydrating.
Anyway, in almost every hotel room I’m in, there is a mini-bar, or some kind of snack bar that charges $9 for a tube of gummy bears. I’m not gonna lie, I have bought those delicious bears at 2am and they were worth every penny. But I digress. With so many of us seasoned women traveling, when is a hotel chain going to have a Sephora-like offering of travel beauty products we all forget, in the form of a mini-beauty-bar for ladies. I’ll pass on that $18 bottle of tiny Courvoisier, but I will totally plunk down $15 for a travel tube of Benefit Cosmetics Lemon-Aide Under-Eye cream. I’ve seen some airports offer some high end cosmetics, MAC stores and such, but if I’ve forgotten something I don’t realize it till I’m unpacking in my hotel room, and then my only choice for under-eye cream is the Preparation H they offer in the “Emergency Toiletries” section of the hotel snack-bar, next to the $5 two pack of Advil. Am I the only one that’s heard Prep H does wonders for emergency under-eye bags? There has to be a better solution.
Journey On, Janes.
